Let’s Raise the Roof

July 21st, 2011 by Krystal_Perkins

3 Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them. 4 Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on. 5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” Mark 2:3-5 (NIV)

When I was praying this morning Jesus brought this scripture back to my remembrance.  These men that lugged this man in could have turned around when they saw the crowd but they was determined to see him set free.  How many of us are as determined to see our friends or family members set free?  We say we want to help but when it gets hard we give up.  Your family could be running from God and because they have pushed you aside you have stopped praying for them.  God doesn’t answer those who give up; He answers those who persevere.  The bible says when Jesus saw their faith, not his.  It was them that tore off the roof to get him to Jesus.  Sometimes people are paralyzed by their circumstances that they can’t get to Jesus on their own.  It’s up to us to get them there.  What are you willing to do to get your friends or family set free?

About In Him I Live

27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: 28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. Acts 17:27-28
