My Husband and I

I am so blessed to have an awesome man by my side. My life wouldn’t be the same without him. Some people think it’s about the big things he does but it’s not at all. It’s the little things he does. Like when he kisses me on the forehead for no reason at all. I love him with all my heart. We’ve been through some tough times and it’s only been 5 years.
Before we even got married we had to fix up on his grandparents house which needed a lot of tender love and care but we worked through it. After a feel months of living in the house we had our first swarm of termites invade every inch of our home. The winter months was the worst because the house had no insulation. We could stand in the living room and see our breathe. We had a small room that was my office which also stored the dryer. To keep warm we would turn the dryer on during the day to keep from freezing. We lived on love a lot of times instead on circumstances.
Summer came again and we thought we had it in the bag until we started to notice that the wall in our bedroom was starting to chip paint. At times we could hear the termites munching on the wall. We then started to look for another home knowing that we couldn’t afford it. I was praying for God to bless us. Out of the blue, a cousin had a trailer for sale. I swore that I never live in a singlewide again but we was desperate. We had to make our mind up that day because another buyer was looking at the trailer as well. We never make decisions on the spur of the moment but we made the decision to go ahead and get it.
The next day after we decided to buy the trailer here came the termites again. It looked like it was raining termites. I imagine that’s what it look like in bible days when God cursed the land with locusts. There was no going back into that house. Later the wall that started chipping paint fell in with just a small nudge. Although I believe God wanted better for us than that trailer, I believe God showed us how to trust Him more. God also blessed us with a car for free. We was needing one so bad and was talking about purchasing a used one and here it came. No strings attached just a free car.
One of our greatest blessings was our son, Samuel. He was born on March 28th, 2011 at 10:51 P.M. weighing 9 lbs 21 inches long. We didn’t expect him to be that big but he was. After he was born the doctor found a true knot in his ambilical cord. They couldn’t believe that it was there. Mrs. Judy Elmore, an awesome woman of God, said that God said it was love knot. Everyone loves Samuel and says he is the cutest baby ever. I have to agree but I’m a little partial too. He had been a blessing to us and I can’t wait to see what God is going to do for him in the future.
God’s blessed us in so many ways that to begin to write it would take hundreds of hours. I thank God for every blessing and every trial. I thank God for the times we only had $25 to buy groceries for a week and I thank him for the times that we had more than enough. It’s those times that makes you stronger. I know more trials are to come but I believe that more trials just means triple the blessings.
